Blood Meridian is a story all about deconstructing myths. It is a book about the untold parts of stories; the not so happy stuff. I found a pretty famous short story that is all about knowing your past but never talking about the bad parts. The short story that follows is highly disturbing and I suggest that no one faint of heart dare read it. Kreinbring might take it off but I think it’s a pretty good story.

There is a pretty great band named after the novel. All their songs sound upbeat and happy but apparently they are about death… Awesome!

They are making a movie based on Blood Meridian that is scheduled to come out at some point in 2009.
I actually haven’t started reading the book yet but I plan to start it over break. Deciding to chose this book was really not a hard decision. It had Kreinbring’s backing, it was written by Cormac McCarthy, and it is filled with blood and violence. I’m sure it is going to be very interesting.
